A collaborative effort to build a lightweight, customized Linux distribution from source code. Our implementation focuses on performance optimization and educational value for understanding operating system fundamentals.
The FOSS Club has been officially recognized by the Symbiosis Institute of Technology as an innovative student-led initiative. Our projects have received acknowledgment from the FOSS United Foundation, marking our presence in the wider open-source community.
Our Android Auto implementation was featured in the College Tech Expo 2024, receiving the "Most Innovative Project" award among 50+ participating teams.
Club members have collectively contributed 100+ pull requests to various open-source projects, with a notable contribution to the OpenWRT Project for porting it to Archer A6 V4 routers.
We've successfully completed the implementation of 5 major projects including Custom Linux Distro, Android Auto, NAS Solutions, Reinforcement Learning Games, and our own FOSS Club Website.
Since our formation in January 2024, we've organized 5+ technical workshops including the successful "FOSS in AI" workshop in April 2024 with over 50 participants.
The club co-hosted FOSSHACK 2024 with AIML SIT Pune, attracting 100+ participants and resulting in 20+ innovative projects over the 36-hour hackathon.
